The Railroad Spirit quilt block symbolizes the determination and ingenuity of our mountain heritage and the construction of the Murphy Branch. The passion and vision of our early railroading pioneers opened up the region to commerce, trade and a vital connection to the 20th Century. The bold colors and Railroad Crossing design style remind us that we are a community dedicated to preservation and celebration of our railroad and mountain history.
